Ooi Chin Soon
Executive Chairman
Mr. Ooi Chin Soon is the Executive Chairman of CWG Holdings Berhad (“CWG” or “the Company”). He was first appointed to the Board as Group Executive Director on 29 June 2017 and was subsequently re-designated as Executive Deputy Chairman on 28 August 2019. On 15 June 2023, he assumed his current role as the Executive Chairman.
Mr. Ooi holds a Diploma in Banking and Finance from AIB, United Kingdom. He began his career in the banking industry before joining a multi-national company in Singapore. Upon his return to Malaysia, he established the first digital inkjet manufacturing company and has since expanded to Indonesia through partnership.
His professional experience encompassed finance and corporate functions, business development and manufacturing operations. Mr. Ooi also owns several private companies involved in property development, manufacturing and investment holding.
As Executive Chairman, Mr. Ooi provides overall strategic leadership to the Board. He is primarily responsible for formulating the Group’s corporate strategies and long-term business plans, as well as overseeing the day-to-day business operations of the Group. Presently, he sits on the board of all subsidiaries of CWG.
Mr. Ooi does not hold any directorship in other public companies. He has no family relationship with any Directors and/or major shareholders of CWG.
Tan Hing Ming @ Chin Hing Ming
Group Managing Director
Mr. Tan Hing Ming is the Group Managing Director of CWG. He was first appointed to the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 29 June 2017. He was later re-designated as Group Executive Director on 28 August 2019, before assuming his current position on 27 November 2019.
Mr. Tan is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), United Kingdom.
He began his accounting career as an Account Executive in the hospitality industry before moving into the property development and construction sectors, where he served as an Internal Audit Senior for a public listed company. Over his 20-year career in accounting and auditing, he has held various management positions with increasing responsibilities in several public listed companies, from Internal Auditor, Project Accountant, Accountant to Financial Controller.
Mr. Tan is responsible for driving the Group’s strategic direction, executing growth initiatives and overseeing the Group’s overall operations. He works closely with the Executive Chairman in implementing the Group’s business strategies. Presently, he sits on the board of all subsidiaries of CWG.
Mr. Tan does not hold any directorship in other public companies. He has no family relationship with any Directors and/or major shareholders of CWG.
